Recognizing the devasting obstacles Puerto Rico faces past and present - chefs, farmers,
and local foodies “CFF” will gather the weekend of February 16 th - 20 th to discuss ways they can help improve the current state of the food and agriculture system in Puerto Rico. The group will participate in school and farmers market visits, they will network with community leaders to fight hunger & poverty in local communities and visit farms to understand the soil content and vegetation. Sunday February 17, we will have our “CFF” roundtable discussion where we dive into conversations about produce sustainability & distribution, agriculture challenges, and food nutrition in schools. Special guests will include Chefs De Borinquen- nonprofit 501(c)(3), Norwich Meadows Farm- NYC’s top organic farm, Hacienda Mireia- Yauco-PR, Freddy and Nene Farm- Las Maria-PR and John Hart Seed Breeder.
